To celebrate this epic competition we are painting our fine Bull Mastiff Rugby player in the livery of a further five worthy teams to compete alongside our previously released Home Nation series all accurately represented in their traditional colours and badged appropriately.

The Hosts and the Number one Rugby team in the World are the tribal, chant screaming Mauri's from New Zealand...the "All Black's" and their Haka make mincemeat of most opponents... nothing like Roast Wallabie stuffed with Leek's and a Baked Puma served with a French Chicken Salad or an Irish Stew filled to the brim with Springbok and Onions washed down with a sip of Thistle Tea...good job Thorns are hard to swallow!!!

Harlequins, Rugby, Bull Mastiff, Dog, Figurine, Gift

The Quins, formally known as the Hampstead Football Club, was founded in 1866 with the first recorded game taking place in 1867. The club was renamed Harlequin Rugby Football Club in 1870, supposedly because the membership was no longer purely local but the HFC monogram had to be retained. The word 'Harlequin' was found in a dictionary and all present agreed to the new name. This caused a split in the membership which resulted in the formation of two different clubs: Harlequin F.C. and Wasps.

The club originally played at many venues, but in 1906, the club was invited by the Rugby Football Union to use the new national stadium at Twickenham. In 1963, the Harlequins acquired an athletics ground just over the road from Twickenham stadium which became its training pitch. This has subsequently become their home, known as the Stoop Memorial Ground, or the Twickenham Stoop.

Since turning professional in 1987, the Quins have won the Anglo-Welsh Cup three times, the European Challenge Cup three times and the Premiership once.

In our second series of the 'Scrum Dogs', we are pleased to announce the release of a further four teams as strict Time Limited Editions. To kick-off, may we introduce to you our first piece in this series, our Brindle Bull Mastiff Rugby Player, kitted out in the distinctive Red and Black livery of one of Rugby Union's most famous teams, The Sarries!

A Time Limited Edition, only available over a 7 week ordering period until the 2nd June, 2014. Each exclusive piece will be marked with a unique edition number and come with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

This unique edition, will be followed by the following teams over the time periods listed below.

The Sarries!

The Sarries were founded in 1876 by the Old Boys of the Philological School in Marylebone, London (later to become St Marylebone Grammar School). They amalgamated with neighbouring club Crusaders two years later and in 1892 moved from Crown Lane, Southgate, to Firs Farm, Winchmore Hill, then played on nine different grounds before the move to Bramley Road for the 1939–40 season (although the Second World War actually prevented them from playing there until 1945).

The club's name is said to come from the "endurance, enthusiasm and perceived invincibility of Saladin's desert warriors of the 12th century". The fact that their local rivals were called the Crusaders may also have been a factor.

Since the professional era, the Saracen's have played at a number of grounds, until they moved into their new home at the Allianz Park statdium in 2013. They have been Champions of the Aviva Premiership as well as the Tetley's Bitter Cup.

The Fog of War is upon us again. The blood, sweat and jeers from the stands, rage in a torrent of club pride as The Wasps take to the Battlefield, grinding their opponents into the dirt to claim victory in the English Premiership!

The Wasps!

The Wasps started out as Hampstead Football Club, which was founded in 1866, but a split in the membership resulted in the formation of two different clubs; The Harlequins and the Wasps, with the Wasps Football Club being formed in 1867 at the now defunct Eton and Middlesex Tavern in North London.

As a reasonably well-established club, the Wasps were eligible to be founder members of the Rugby Football Union (RFU). However, an unfortunate mix-up led to them sending their representative to the wrong venue at the wrong time on the wrong day. Another version of the story was that he went to a pub of the same name and after consuming a number of drinks was too drunk to make it to the correct address after he realised his mistake. Wasps were, therefore, not present at the inauguration ceremony and forfeited their right to be called foundation members.

Wasps' first home was in Finchley Road, North London and various grounds were rented around parts of London until in 1923 when the Wasps found a new home at Sudbury, Middlesex. However, a mix of fortunes meant they were again renting grounds and they are now currently ground sharing with Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park in Buckinghamshire.

It is not all doom and gloom and despite this they are one of the most successful English Rugby Union sides of recent times, winning at least one of each of the major European competitions, or knock-out tournaments, in the past decade, winning the Heineken Cup twice, the Anglo-Welsh Cup three times and the Aviva Premiership six times.
